The Director of Member Impact (DMI) is responsible for leading and supervising the membership and wellness departments of the branch. The DMI will be responsible for the effective delivery of the membership system, which includes membership recruitment, cause driven tours, new member onboarding, member engagement/retention and service and engagement. The DMI is responsible for leading and supervising the wellness department including group exercise and personal training.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree in the related field and 2-3 years of related work experience or High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency and 4-6 years of related work experience.
Ensures programs and services meet community needs.
Ensures the YMCA Membership system is consistently and effectively utilized- leading to member retention, wellness program participation, member giving and membership growth.
Promotes wellness program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates membership/program registration, including logistics to support phone, walk-in and web registration. Coordinates with marketing efforts to maximize enrollments and provides ongoing support to Program Directors on related issues.
Ensures a level of service and engagement that fosters loyalty among those we serve.
Organizes membership events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the YMCA.
Ensures proper implementation of front desk membership/wellness procedures. Reviews and updates desk/wellness procedures and communicates changes to staff in a clear, concise way.Coordinates with the business office as necessary on financial transactions.
Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for membership/wellness and takes appropriate action to correct variances.
Leads membership/wellness staff and volunteers effectively; recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams; on-boards and develops them for success.
Tracks, measures, evaluates and reports data to ensure effective delivery of membership/wellness systems and member/participant satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining, controlling, and evaluating income/expenses of Membership and Wellness department budgets. Intervenes to ensure sound fiscal performance.
Manages the new member orientation process.
Directs all operations of the Wellness department, including group exercise, personal training, wellness center operations and equipment.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent computer skills with experience in standard business software.
• Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.
• Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
• Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).
