Under the direction of the Regional Vice President, and with guidance from the center Board of Advisors, the Executive Director is responsible for management and administration of all aspects of Center operations.  Those aspects include but are not limited to: 

Direct supervision of Associate Executive Director, Director of Member Experience and Engagement and Director of Building and Grounds  
Oversee selection, employment, training and supervision of staff 
Operation of facilities and program sites 
Development and implementation of plans to deepen member involvement  
Management of center financial sustainability 
Cultivate, sustain, and deepen relationships with community stakeholders through strategies that address the needs of all populations 
Selection and utilization of a strong volunteer structure 
Establishment and implementation of Association and center strategic plans 
Leads donor and community engagement to foster long-term donor relationships and drive sustainable philanthropic growth 

Responsibilities: 

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT 

Build bridges within the community to ensure individuals and families from all backgrounds have access to the Y.  
Clearly communicates the Y’s community impact to all stakeholders—including staff, volunteers, members, and community leaders—while fostering strong, collaborative relationships with organizations, businesses, and government agencies. 
Develop and involve the Center Advisory Board and related committees in establishing and achieving center goals.

PHILANTHROPY 

Leads integrated fundraising efforts that align donor engagement and financial development with strategic priorities to drive sustainable philanthropic support 
Cultivate and sustain relationships with existing and prospective funding partners, while actively identifying new funding opportunities to support each Center’s operational and capital needs.

LEADERSHIP 

Promote and operationalize the four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility to strengthen culture and impact. 
Models integrity and optimism by approaching challenges with curiosity, while fostering a constructive, solutions-focused environment for their team. 
Convenes community leaders and stakeholders to inform center relationships, ensure alignment, and shape strategic direction. 
Oversees the selection, training, development, performance, corrective action and supervision of staff in collaboration with the Regional Vice President. 
Provide leadership and/or support for Association-wide projects as assigned.

OPERATIONS 

Lead the development, oversight, and evaluation of the center budget to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, effective resource allocation, and meeting and/or exceeding operational financial targets.      
Leads staff and volunteers in developing high quality, innovative member engagement strategies and programs which support center/association goals.  
Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.  
Leads center strategic planning and oversees the development and execution of the annual operating plan, supported by data analysis and qualitative reporting 
Execution of strategic community relations, member engagement, and marketing initiatives that enhance visibility, strengthen community connections, and drive growth in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders 
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment. 
Responsible for an annual operating budget of greater than four million.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree 
Minimum of 5 years successful professional experience
