This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening
community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Branch Executive Director
stewards the Y’s cause, promoting and protecting the brand and reputation as a global, inclusive organization
within the community. The Branch Executive Director oversees the operation of the Y and participates in
volunteer and staff development, financial development, and collaboration with community stakeholders.
This is a thriving branch located in the heart of downtown Pittston, PA, serving as a vibrant hub for families and the community. The branch has shown consistent year-over-year membership growth, is in a strong financial position with a $1.3M annual operating budget and 1,300 membership units, and is deeply trusted for its childcare and family programming. We recently acquired an adjoining building to expand childcare capacity, positioning the branch for even greater community impact.

Bachelor's degree
● YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
● Management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
● Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development
and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
● Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top
community leaders.
● Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
● Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community members and organizations.
● Proven fundraising skills & financial development.
Coordinates the development of the branch staff, board members, volunteers and committees.
2. Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
3. Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y’s impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff,
volunteers, members, community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships
with neighboring Y’s, other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
4. Manages the budgeting process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic
objectives. Ensures operating budgets meet or exceed targets.
5. Directs the financial development activities of the branch.
6. Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to communicate the benefits to the community
effectively.
7. Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
8. Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
9. Develops and scales member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
10. Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
11. Work with department leaders to develop a comprehensive schedule of programming and staffing
needs for a full fiscal year.
12. Maintain an efficient and effective tracking and reporting system that supports the financial
development efforts of the association.
13. Establishes and manages a comprehensive process for timely and accurate grant evaluation, quality
compliance, project and program fulfilment.
14. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal legislation.
